Fueled by a passion for a life lived outdoors, Buck Knives has spent over a century making the most reliable tools one can carry — tools you can always count on, when and where you need them most.
The first Buck Knife was created in 1902 when a young Kansas blacksmith apprentice named Hoyt Buck was looking for a better way to temper steel so it would hold an edge longer. Hoyt made each knife by hand, using worn-out file blades as raw material. His workmanship was greatly appreciated during World War II. In 1964 the knife industry was revolutionized by Hoyt’s son Al and grandson Chuck with the introduction of the Model 110 Folding Hunter, making Buck Knives a leader in the field. A position we hold proudly today.
With the Buck name on every knife, quality, focus, and attention to detail are very personal to the Buck family. Through CJ Buck, 4th generation family member, CEO and Chairman of Buck Knives, this endless commitment continues with the design and creation of superior products.
