One of several tools in AvantLink using RSS for the distribution of Affiliate links, the Dynamic Coupon Feed (DCF) is populated by our merchants with sales, coupons or promotions. A merchant can "flag" text or banner creative to be included in their DCF, and Affiliates have the option to include all flagged items or just individual offers. Each merchant has a Dynamic Coupon Feed Affiliates can access.
Affiliates using this Dynamic Coupon Feed do not have to perform updates to their site. The offers displayed will always be current.
Integration choices for the DCF include RSS and JavaScript. We encourage the use of the RSS version for several reasons including the output of spiderable content and the ability to syndicate your coupon feeds around the web. Affiliate sites featuring web coupons can also plug the RSS feed into their default readers to keep a close eye on merchant offers.
Applications for the RSS Dynamic Coupon Feed include...- Publish spiderable content on coupons, sales and promotions to your web site
- Syndicate your Affiliate links around the web on Blogs and Web 2.0 communities
- Plug a merchant's DCF into your default RSS reader to keep an eye on new offers
Best Practice: Build a unique content page about a well known merchant. Include details (in your words) on that merchant's offerings, shipping info, returns processing, customer reviews, etc. On your merchant pages, add a section called "Current Coupons & Promos" then plug in a respective merchant's DCF. Your hand-written page will help win search engine rankings, and the Dynamic Coupon Feed will always keep offers up-to-date.
Free access to this tool is available from the Affiliate account interface by selecting 'Tools' from the main menu. For more information join the Dynamic Coupon Feed discussion on our support forum.
